Leroy

I was brought up in a musical home where Dad played the ukulele and Mom was a great singer. I was raised in church singing and playing the ukulele.

I play all kinds of music from Gospel to Rock and Roll and Hawaiian music.  "Sway" is my favorite song, being it is a family song.

Being in the Vancouver Ukulele Club is a joy.  Although I have been playing the ukulele for years, I am always learning. Playing cords forever and not knowing the name is my biggest takeaway.

Playing the ukulele is just relaxing and fun.  Keep it that way.  Just pick it up and play. Learn the chords and play. Play the chord with 4 beats and then change to the next. Start slow.

The best part for me is teaching others from my experience and encouraging others to continue to grow.  We all started at some time in our lives.
